Outreach

At Covington Assembly, we’ve discovered that living the Christian life is much more meaningful when our hearts and minds are set to give, not simply receive.  Among the many opportunities to be encouraged, blessed, and challenged here, there are also wonderful opportunities to serve.  And we’ve found that when we serve, people see a much more accurate picture of who Jesus really is!  Here are just a few of the ways we choose to give – both in our community and around the world:

Outreach – this area of serving focuses on ways we can reach out and LIFT our community.  We’ve all struggled, all needed encouragement and help from time to time.  Just knowing someone cares and is willing to help often makes a world of difference.  During the year, you’ll see members of Covington Assembly serving through:

Neighborhood Kidz Club

A mobile kids ministry that offers high energy kids ministry right in local neighborhoods. A team of trained volunteers can be found, many Saturdays, playing games, telling Bible stories, singing songs, and praying with children around town. Kidz Club is a TON of fun and a blessing to our community! If you are interested in joining us contact Pastor Jared at jaredanthonyschiller@gmail.com to sign up!

Fishes and Loaves Backpack Ministry

partners with Crestview Elementary School to provide weekend meals for children who may not have enough food to eat when school meals are not available.  This ministry has served CES for several years and is made possible by grocery and monetary donations from our church family and generous people in our community.  Each backpack of food is packed by loving volunteers, prayed over, and delivered to the school for distribution.

Whether it’s our Community Easter Egg Scramble, a community concert or drama, our food pantry and clothes closet, or any of the many other ministries available,  there are plenty of great opportunities to serve.  If you’re looking for a place to invest your life, talents, and resources, look no further!
