Pastor Ed Hawkins
Lead Pastor
Pastor Ed has served as lead pastor at Covington Assembly since March, 2002.  He was saved at the age of 16 and felt God’s call to ministry shortly after.  He attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, where he received his Bachelor’s degree, and Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, where he received his Master’s degree in Pastoral Leadership.  Pastor Ed has served in fulltime ministry with the Assemblies of God since 1987.  In addition to pastoral ministry, he served on the board of Trustees at Southeastern University for four years, and in various leadership roles in the Tennessee Assemblies of God Ministry Network, including as West Tennessee Executive Presbyter, where he has served since 2009.

During his ministry internship Pastor Ed met Lori in Salem, Missouri.  They married in 1987 and have been serving together in ministry ever since.  They have two sons, Chase and Drew.  Both sons are also serving in ministry with their families.  Chase and his wife Kate have three beautiful children, Emma, Josiah and Ravi.  Drew and his wife Kelsey have a handsome little boy named Judah.  Pastor Ed and Lori love investing in their family and are enjoying the thrill of being grandparents.

Pastor Ed places unwavering emphases on the
importance of the Bible, prayer, the Holy Spirit, and connectivity to the local church.  His desire is for everyone to experience the joy of a life lived for Jesus Christ and with the family of God.
